From the people using it

The OSINT side changed how we work a hard file. Registers only show you what someone has formally recorded, and on a subject who doesn't want to be found there often isn't much. Run a phone number or an old email and you get aliases and contact points nobody ever declared. Put that next to the address history and the company records and a dead end turns into a line of enquiry.

Time back on every file

Most of the time on a file goes to the tooling around the enquiry rather than the enquiry itself. intelID takes that part off you.

  • One account, one invoice

An enquiry across a credit bureau, the Companies Office, a title search and the PPSR would normally mean four accounts and four invoice lines. Here it is one login and one monthly account.

  • One consolidated audit trail

Every search is logged in one place, against the user, the sources selected and the declared purpose. If a client, a regulator or a data provider asks, the record is already there.

  • Results already reconciled

Names, addresses and entities are matched across sources and returned in one consistent format, so the time goes on reading the result rather than assembling it.

What you can search

One interface across the licensed sources a New Zealand enquiry actually needs.

  • Skip tracing, person locate and address history

Trace a subject across directory and credit-linked address data, with current and previous addresses and the dates each was recorded.

  • Social and digital footprint

Social media, phone number, username and email tracing that returns linked accounts, platform registrations, aliases and the contact points registered against them.

  • Property and title

Certificates of title, registered owners, encumbrances, caveats and sales history from LINZ, searchable by address, title reference or owner name.

  • Security interests (PPSR)

Registered financing statements and security interests over personal property, with the secured party, debtor details and collateral description returned.

  • Company and director

Registrations, directors, shareholders, allocations and filing history from the Companies Office, with related entities surfaced alongside each record.

  • Insolvency

Bankruptcy, no-asset procedures, debt repayment orders and company insolvency events, including dates, status and the administering body.

  • Identity confirmation

Corroborate a person against several independent record sets before you act, so the file rests on a match you can evidence rather than a name that looked close enough.

  • Asset position

Property, security interests, company holdings and insolvency events read together, so recovery viability is a judgment made on evidence rather than assumption.

  • Individual and commercial credit checks

Full credit reports from Centrix and Equifax: credit score, account conduct, defaults, judgments and enquiry history on a person, or score, rating, payment behaviour and adverse events on a business.

  • Sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening

Screen individuals and businesses against global sanctions lists, regulatory watchlists, politically exposed persons and adverse media, returned alongside the rest of the enquiry.

  • Comprehensive media archive

Decades of New Zealand newspaper, magazine, journal and news wire copy, including the notices pages, searchable by name and date range.

  • Litigation history

Public court and tribunal decisions by party name, with citations, dates and full decision text.

  • More sources to come

Further licensed New Zealand sources are being added as access agreements are completed. Each one arrives under the same authorised-purpose declaration and audit logging as the sources already live.

How skip tracing works on intelID

How it works

Three steps, in this order, on every enquiry.

  1. 01

    Verified account

We check your identity, your organisation and your licence or professional registration before an account is issued. There is no self-service signup.

  2. 02

Declare the purpose, choose the sources

The user declares the lawful purpose for that specific enquiry, then selects which licensed sources to run. You are not obliged to run them all, and you only pay for the searches you run.

  3. 03

    Consolidated result, full audit record

Matched records from the sources selected for that enquiry are returned together, and the query, the user, the time and the declared purpose are written to the audit log.

Who it is for

Built for professionals who run enquiries with a lawful, declarable reason to search.

A low seat fee, then pay per search

Solo is $49 per month plus GST for one user and Team is $99 per month plus GST for up to three. On top of the seat you pay only for the searches you actually run, priced by the source queried, with no minimum spend and no bundle to use up. A quiet month costs you close to nothing.

Compliance and security

Regulators and data providers hold you to the same standard whichever tool you use. intelID is built so that standard is met on every query, by every user, without relying on anyone remembering.

  • One consolidated legal framework

Every source is used under the same documented set of 13 New Zealand acts and codes, from the Privacy Act 2020 and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code 2020 through to the statutes governing each register we search.

  • Source-specific legal basis

Each register carries its own access rules, and the basis we rely on is recorded against that source rather than assumed from a general privacy statement.

  • Authorised-purpose declaration

Every search requires the user to declare the authorised purpose before results are returned.

  • Full audit logging

Every query is recorded against the user, the time and the declared purpose, and retained.

  • Role-based access control

Sources and functions are granted by role, not handed to everyone in the organisation.

  • Encryption in transit and at rest

Hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the Australia/New Zealand region, with a vendor security programme benchmarked to SOC 2 Type II providers. Some processing or support may occur outside New Zealand, under safeguards comparable to the Privacy Act 2020 in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 12.

No marketing use. No resale. No public indexing of subject data. Read the full legal framework, compliance and security position.

Built around how enquiries are run

intelID was designed by people who run enquiries for a living, so the workflow follows the order the work happens in: identify the subject, confirm the address and contact points, establish the asset position, and record what was done and why.

Common questions

Is intelID a private investigation service?

No. intelID is software for verified professional users. It is not a private investigation service for members of the public. We supply the search platform and the audit record; the enquiry itself remains yours to run under your own licence, retainer or statutory role.

Can I sign up online?

No. There is no self-service signup and no instant trial. Access is granted after we verify your identity, your organisation and the authorised purpose for which you intend to search.

Who is allowed to hold an account?

Vetted, authorised users only: PSPLA-licensed private investigators, law firms and legal professionals, debt recovery and collections firms, finance companies, insurers and credit providers, corporate risk, fraud, AML/CFT and compliance teams, and process serving firms.

Can I use intelID for skip tracing in New Zealand?

Yes. Skip tracing is one of the most common uses. You choose the sources the trace needs, from credit-linked and directory address history, contact confirmation, company and director links, property and title records, security interests and digital footprint results, so you can locate a subject and confirm the address before you serve or recover. Skip tracing is only available for a declared authorised purpose, and every search is logged.

Which data sources does a search cover?

Licensed New Zealand sources: Equifax and Centrix credit data, individual and commercial credit checks, MBIE and the Companies Office, LINZ property and title data, the PPSR, insolvency and bankruptcy registers, screening against global sanctions, watchlists, politically exposed persons and adverse media, a comprehensive New Zealand media archive covering newspapers, magazines and public notices, published court and tribunal decisions and legislation, and advanced digital footprint tracing across social media, phone numbers, usernames and email addresses.

Does intelID offer individual and commercial credit checks?

Yes, through Centrix and Equifax. An individual credit check returns the full personal credit report: credit score, account conduct, defaults, judgments, enquiry history and the addresses held on file. A commercial credit check returns the full business report: company credit score and rating, payment behaviour, defaults and judgments, security interests, insolvency events and the directors and shareholders behind the entity. A full credit report is supplied only with the subject's consent, or where the Credit Reporting Privacy Code 2020 permits access without it, such as recovery of an existing debt.

What is an authorised-purpose declaration?

Before results are returned, the user selects and declares the lawful purpose for that specific search. The declaration is recorded against the query, the user and the time it was run.

What is recorded about my searches?

Every query is logged in full against the user who ran it and the purpose declared for it. The audit log is retained and can be produced if a search is ever questioned by a client, a regulator or a data provider.

How does intelID handle the Privacy Act 2020 and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code 2020?

Collection, use, disclosure and retention are handled against the information privacy principles, and credit data is handled under the Credit Reporting Privacy Code 2020, including its access and purpose restrictions. There is no marketing use, no resale and no public indexing of subject data.

Where is the platform hosted and how is data protected?

intelID is hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the Australia/New Zealand region, with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, and a vendor security programme benchmarked to SOC 2 Type II providers. Some processing or support may occur outside New Zealand, under safeguards comparable to the Privacy Act 2020 in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 12.

What does it cost?

Solo is $49 per month plus GST for one user. Team is $99 per month plus GST for up to three users, then $25 per month plus GST for each additional user, to a maximum of ten users. Enterprise covers more than ten users. On top of the seat fee you pay only for the searches you run, charged per query at the rate set by the source being queried, so a quiet month costs you close to nothing. Query rates are confirmed when your account is approved. Every plan requires a verified, approved account.

More detail on eligibility, data sources, authorised purpose, billing and support is on the frequently asked questions page.
